Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan has evaded arrest over the alleged misuse of his pork barrel funds after posting bail at a local court in Biñan, Laguna on Friday.
Honasan posted P60,000 bail bond for two counts of graft, the ABS-CBN News reported.
On Thursday, the Sandiganbayan ordered the senator’s arrest for allegedly misusing his P30-million Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), which was supposed to finance small and medium enterprise/livelihood projects for Muslim Filipinos in communities in the National Capital Region and Zambales.
Honasan has denied the accusation.
“I am completely innocent of the charges against me. All my life I have fought everything I am accused of, and I will continue to do so,” he said in a statement Thursday. JPV
