MANILA, Philippines — In line with the controversies a Star Magic talent, John Lloyd Cruz, faces following his recent viral photos and videos on social media, Star Magic Manager Johnny Manahan has released a statement in defense of the actor.
Manahan, also fondly called in the industry as Mr. M, explains in a statement aired on “TV Patrol” last September 11:
“JLC works hard as an actor… 18 hr. days at a stretch. He was just letting off some steam. In this age of an all pervasive social media, what is ok and innocent in private becomes worthlessly controversial in public. He will have learned his lesson and be more careful in the future.”
Manahan’s statement was also published in the September 13 column of The Philippine Star Entertainment Editor Ricky Lo.
Cruz caused a stir online after photos and videos of his weekend getaway with “Home Sweetie Home” co-star Ellen Adarna show him very intoxicated while doing absurd things like dropping a knife and flashing dirty fingers.
On September 11, the actor apologized in his supposed Instagram account, saying: “diz iz mi lerning. very humbling but i do apologize to the little boys & girls. no regrets babies just life revealing its raw beauty.”
