Secretary Arthur Tugade is urging transport operators to assure the safety and comfort of the riding public as the holidays draw near.
The secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) made the call in anticipation of the annual exodus of travelers who flock to bus terminals, train stations, seaports and airports to spend Christmas in the provinces.
“May I once again reiterate the great importance of maintaining and assuring the safety, security and comfort of the riding passengers and the public,” Tugade said in a statement on Thursday.
“Accordingly, please continue implementing and improving our security and safety measures to protect people, facility, structures, equipment, and the like,” he said.
Tugade also urged the government and the commuting public to be “proactive, alert and vigilant” during the season. /cbb
