What’s it like to meet Michael Jordan for the first time?
This is the Chicago Bulls fans have often asked LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers superstars had a ready answer: To him, meeting Jordan was a religious experience.
James said meeting his idol for the first time was “godly,” and then added as quoted by Yahoo.“it was like meeting God for the first time.”
That is, no pun intended, high praise for Jordan.
It would be interesting to know if James still feels that way now. James and Jordan have gotten to know each other much better after that first meeting.
Whether they like it or not, the two are linked due to their top-caliber style of play. Why, people even argue over which of them is the greatest of all time.
James could let Jordan know how much he wants that title Saturday (Sunday in Manila) , as the Lakers are set to take on Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets.
James going off for a huge performance against Jordan’s team would send a pretty strong message.
James had 24 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in teaming up with Lonzo Ball as the only Lakers to record a triple-double in the same game.
Ball had 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as Los Angeles routed the Charlotte Hornets 128-100 that Saturday night. The only other Lakers to accomplish the feat in the same game were Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on Jan. 22, 1982.
“Any time you can put yourself in the conversation of Laker history, all the guys that have come through this franchise, it’s pretty special,” LeBron said of he and Ball’s feats.
James said he and Ball are “one in the same” when it comes to their playmaking ability.
“We are always looking for our teammates and that’s the greatest satisfaction we can have when we see our teammates score the ball,” James said.
James continued his dominance over Charlotte, improving to 27-1 in his last 28 games against Michael Jordan’s franchise.
