Gone are the days when hotel room reservations mean calling the establishment via landline or going directly to its concierge and talking to a reservation officer.
Today, anyone who wants to reserve a room can easily tap their screens and confirm their bookings.
Now imagine having the ease of booking hotel rooms using the same app one would use to book a ride going there.
Grab, popular among Filipinos as a ride-hailing and later food delivery app, is now adding a special function that allows users to book hotel rooms without leaving the app.
“We have partnered with Agoda and Booking.com and this allows you to book a hotel accommodation without leaving the Grab app,” Grab president Brian Cu noted during the company’s anniversary kickoff celebration.
But that is not the only update in this app that celebrates its seventh year in the country. Grab will soon be the super app that will suit the digital lifestyle of its users.
This year, users will be able to stream on-demand video content through its partnership with Hooq, one of the leading Southeast Asian video-streaming providers that has over 10,000 hours of content on its belt. Grab and Hooq’s partnership is the first of its kind integration between a regional digital platform and a leading OTT service provider (online video streaming) in Southeast Asia and represents a hockey-stick moment for both digital services and online video in the region.
Likewise, Grab users will be able to use the app to book for their movie tickets in advance through the soon-to-be-launched Tickets service tile powered by its partnership with SM Cinemas.
But that’s not all. The app is living up to its label of super app with the integration of more services.
App users will soon have access to GrabBillsPay, a solution that allows GrabPay account holders to use their digital wallets to pay for utility bills.
Likewise, through its partnership with the SM Group, Grab is bringing GrabPay outside of the Grab app and into the SM Group’s wide portfolio of merchants. The partnership will see Grab’s QR code payments solution being deployed across the merchant partner of the SM Group within the year.
“As an everyday super app, Grab strives to provide the best solutions to the everyday needs of Filipino consumers, bringing them closer to things that matter to them. Through constant innovation and evolution, we are turning our super app vision into a more concrete reality. Soon, Grab users can use the Grab platform for more services that help them meet their daily needs,” Cu declared.
Besides its new and upcoming services, Grab users are also in for a treat as the company celebrates its seventh anniversary.
More than P7 million worth of treats are up for grabs until June 6, with the first week focused on Grab services, and the second week giving premium to Grab’s partners.
Promos range from P77 discounts for GrabCar, P777 cashback for GrabPay, P7 Grab bundles, and more.
It will also hold a raffle for its 7 Grab Anniversary Gifts, wherein seven lucky winners per day for seven days will receive gift certificates from Grab’s partners.
But the biggest among its many promotions is the awarding of seven raffle winners with 1 million GrabRewards Points each.
“Sharing the love has always been at the core of Grab, and as we celebrate our seventh year in business, we want to give back to Filipino consumers who helped us reach where we are right now,” Cu finally noted.
