There is no denying that the six-month rehabilitation of Boracay helped the premier island destination achieve cleaner beach and coastline.
Seven months after its reopening, however, the island’s main roads and passageways remain congested with projects yet to be completed. The result is a stressful journey toward the heart of the paradise.
As such, it is of utmost importance that tourists get to experience a calm and refreshing stay within the island.
Enter Savoy Hotel Boracay, a new property at Boracay Newcoast, which is just a 30-minute drive from the White Beach — the island’s main hotspot.
Boracay Newcoast is a 150-hectare mixed-use leisure and resort development by Megaworld Corporation. It is envisioned to be the grandest tourism destination on the island. It also prides itself as the first and the only master-planned leisure oriented township in Boracay.
Despite being a new player in the hotel industry, Savoy Hotel Boracay has been giving its guests a space to enjoy a colorful vacation at their own pace since its opening on April 18, 2017.
“Our tagline is ‘Color Your Experience’ because we knew that black and white are not colors. They’re just shades. So we don’t want to give our guests a black and white experience. We want it to be colorful and we want them to make memories that will even last for a lifetime,” Savoy Hotel Boracay General Manager Christian Adrian Gallares shared with The Manila Times in an interview.
“We also take note that travelers to Boracay are not on business —they’re very laid back, relaxed and not in a hurry. So we’re flexible when it comes to our service and amenities. That’s a colorful experience we give them. One guest at a time, one day at a time. That’s our mantra,” he added.
Easy island living
Savoy Hotel Boracay accommodations are a treat and the embodiment of high island living standards. The hotel features 559 well-appointed rooms with spectacular views of the island. It comes in four room types, all offering the perfect spot for cooling down and relaxing after a day out in the sun.
Moreover, each has its own contemporary and colorful décor.
The hotel’s restaurants also provide several dining options for snacks, full meals and cocktails, just like Savoy Cafe — an all-day hotel dining where guests can watch their chefs at work and dine indoors or al fresco; Chambery Pool Bar — an open air bar light snacks and smooth cocktails; and Vienne Lobby Lounge — formerly a snack bar but now has a modern take on different cuisines using fresh produce, some of which come from the region.
“We serve a thousand guests everyday. We want to give them options,” Gallares said.
Meanwhile, Executive Chef Allan Mathay highlighted their conscious effort to meet the demands of their guests while staying true to flavors, “We thought about our exquisite menus because we have guests of different nationalities. We want to make sure that everybody will have something enjoy. Right now everybody wants to put their food shots on their social media, so we also want to make sure that the food that we serve will get lots of likes.
“But we still remain true to the flavors that’s why we did not go into fusion and opted the more traditional flavors. We made sure that we get fresh produce, right items, and that our chefs are well-trained to prepare each meal. Finally, we support the farmers in the region. In addition to some of our imported items, we make sure we also support the local market so that they too will be blessed,” he continued.
Savoy Hotel Boracay’s facilities indeed allow guests to relax, play, and just be at ease.
They can immerse their senses in the vibrant and hip beach lifestyle as they indulge in the hotel’s superb services and amenities.
For one, there are the two pools right in the middle of the resort — a party pool with adult wading pool and a concert pool arena with outdoor stage for live entertainment. It also comes with outdoor shower, pavilion and cabanas.
They also have a fitness center — complete with exercise equipment for those who can’t miss their gym day; and the in-house spa — the Lila Spa that offers invigorating massage and treatments using natural ingredients — for those who want to reenergize their bodies.
For business functions and life events, the hotel offers meeting and conference rooms besides the grand Ballroom. Savoy Hotel Boracay’s wedding planners can also make a couple’s once-in-a-lifetime event a truly romantic one.
Just a 10-minute walk from the hotel is the Newcoast Beach — a 295 meters stretch of white and powdery sand beach with a private feel and relaxing ambiance. Farther down the coast, guests will find the little-known delights of the island such as the all-terrain vehicle adventures, Segway tours, and cable car rides — all available upon request.
Of course, Savoy also wants their guests to experience the main stations of White Beach and access key island destinations such Mount Luho, Willy’s Rock, Bulabog Beach Puka Beach, and D’ Mall, among others. Thus the round-the-clock shuttle to town, the first and only kind of offering in Boracay.
Fairways and Bluewater Newcoast also offers golf courses and adrenaline-filled zipline adventures. This destination is just a few minutes from the hotel.
Finally, in one with the government’s sustainability campaign, Savoy Hotel Boracay gives importance to zero-waste management — their containers are eco-friendly and soon, they will no longer use single-use plastic bottles and build refilling stations instead.
Indeed, at Savoy Hotel Boracay, guests’ are in complete control of their time, in a place where they can enjoy things the way they want.
“We want to let them feel that they don’t want to get out of the hotel premises anymore. Everything is here and they don’t need to go far. We always have a touch of personalized service. That’s the culture we build here,” ended Marie Jehan Balbanero, Savoy Hotel Boracay’s Marketing and Communications Department head.
