As rain spawned by Ineng pelted most areas in Luzon, another low pressure area was spotted off Mindanao, the weather bureau said. It will be named “Jenny” once it

develops into a typhoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Ineng was 275 kilometers north northwest of Basco, Batanes at 5 p.m. on Saturday. It had maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 125 kph moving at 20 kph.

Pagasa said even if Ineng had left the Philippine area of responsibility, the southwest monsoon would continue to prevail, bringing rainshowers to Luzon.
