MANILA – The UPeepz, the two-time world hip-hop dance champions from the University of the Philippines Diliman, once again asserted their dominance on the global stage, clinching their third gold medal in the Megacrew Division of the Hip Hop International competition in Phoenix, Arizona on Aug. 10.
After their remarkable victories in 2016 and 2017, UPeepz returned stronger than ever, outperforming 42 other dance groups for another gold medal finish.
Competing against the best dance crews from more than 55 countries, including powerhouses Japan, Canada, and the US, UPeepz faced fierce rivalry and electrifying beats.
However, under the expert guidance of lead coach Chips Beltran, they emerged victorious, securing the coveted title of Grand Champion in the Mega Crew division.
The UPeepz’s extraordinary performance earned them the gold medal, with Italy taking home the silver and the Dominican Republic claiming the bronze.
Performing in shoes sponsored by World Balance, UPeepz not only represented a talented Filipino dance group but also championed a Filipino brand on the global stage. (PR)
