Jeepneys turn pink for a festive surprise

Pink jeepneys have been recently spotted in busy city spots, drawing attention and curiosity from passersby. These vibrant jeepneys aren’t just eye-catching; they’re offering free rides on two popular routes: Cubao to Marikina and Monumento to EDSA Rotonda. The surprise stunt is all part of online food and grocery delivery platform foodpanda Philippines’ new Christmas campaign, designed to bring fun and convenience to the forefront.

“When you think foodpanda, you think food and fun,” said Patricia Jacinto, foodpanda Philippines Director of Growth and Marketing. “We wanted to bring that spirit of joy and energy throughout this festive season, whether you’re commuting or enjoying a meal at home. Our pink foodpanda jeepney experience is meant to show that beyond just delivering food, we are all about delivering joy-filled moments of indulgence to our customers.” The pink jeepneys are just the beginning as foodpanda has also unveiled a new TV commercial (TVC) featuring a group of office workers who start out looking deliriously hungry. Just when things seem dire, they remember foodpanda — and that’s when the magic happens. The once-tired officemates break into a lively dance, moving to the beat of “foodots,” a playful combination of the word “food” and the popular Filipino music genre “budots.”

The electronic beats and carefree dance style quickly catch on, with influencers joining in on the fun and creating a TikTok trend of their own, showcasing their best “foodots” moves.

“Our goal is to bring together people from all walks of life, united by their love for good food and hassle-free delivery, especially during this time of celebration. We want to provide moments of indulgence, allowing everyone to savor each meal and truly be present in the joy of the season,” Jacinto added.

Beyond its entertaining stunts and beloved pink panda mascot, Pau-Pau, foodpanda remains dedicated to its core mission — offering customers delicious food, fast delivery, and great deals.
