Wanderskye co-founder and CEO Bianca Larrañaga emphasized that passion, rather than money, is the key driver of a successful business. Despite entering a saturated travel accessories market, Wanderskye established itself by offering unique, high-quality products and securing partnerships with major retailers such as Rustan’s, The Travel Club, and ROX. The brand has since expanded to locations in Boracay, Siargao, Bohol, and Metro Manila.
Rite Tea CEO Jaypee Morales echoed the sentiment, encouraging entrepreneurs to identify everyday problems and develop innovative solutions. He shared that perseverance and a strong belief in one’s vision can help business owners navigate early challenges and setbacks.
Commune Café owner Rosario Juan underscored the importance of brand identity and customer experience in creating a loyal following. She highlighted three key factors for mompreneurs: establishing a distinct aesthetic, delivering exceptional service, and staying attuned to market trends. She credited Commune Café’s success to its strong identity, which has encouraged word-of-mouth marketing among customers.
Carmen’s Best founder Francisco “Paco” Magsaysay shared how his ice cream brand, now a staple in grocery stores, started with individual deliveries in 2007. He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards to build brand loyalty.
Meanwhile, Potato Corner co-founder and Tokyo Tempura founder Jorge Wieneke discussed how recognizing market gaps can lead to success. Potato Corner, which began 25 years ago, now operates in 11 countries and is considered an entry point for aspiring entrepreneurs. Wieneke highlighted the need to understand consumer behavior, take calculated risks, and view failures as learning opportunities.
Zarah Juan, founder of the Zarah Juan brand, known for its Filipino-inspired bags, reinforced the idea that failure often serves as the first step to success.
Social media remains a crucial tool for businesses to expand their reach. Drizzled Chicken owner Maine Fontanilla detailed how TikTok can attract customers and encourage dine-ins, while Facebook is effective for managing orders and showcasing products.
nRocket Inc. CEO Jay Jazmines described AI as a potential game changer when used strategically. Fibo Lim of the Fibo Lim Group of Companies advised mompreneurs to create content that not only promotes their business but also educates and entertains their audience.
