NLEX announces toll relief during Marilao bridge repair

The toll relief will remain in effect until all four lanes of the Marilao northbound area are reopened, NLEX Corp. said in a statement.

The Marilao bridge sustained severe damage from a truck violating regulations, and traffic flow changes have been implemented to facilitate repairs and ensure motorist safety, the company said.

“We ask for the motoring public’s patience and understanding as we fast-track repairs and work to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible,” NLEX Corp. said.

Only Class 1 vehicles are allowed to pass through the Marilao Interchange bridge, and heavier vehicles are temporarily prohibited from using the bridge.

The Department of Transportation thanked NLEX Corp. for waiving toll collection from motorists traveling from Balintawak to Meycauayan during the Marilao bridge repair.

“This swift action between the government and the private sector shows commitment to helping commuters as this immediate solution will help ease the burden of the affected motorists and passengers while we work on opening all affected lanes the soonest possible time,” the DOTr said in a statement.
