Genuineness of job offers to foreign workers by employers to be more rigorous assessed; 2-year blacklist for non-compliant employers

Effective last April 1, temporary foreign workers can “cumulatively” work only for a maximum of four years.  They will now have to wait another four years before becoming eligible to again work temporarily in Canada.

Ambassador Jose Brillantes announced last August 28 that all Philippines diplomatic posts abroad have been designated by President Benigno Aquino as “centres of care” for overseas Filipinos in their jurisdiction.

There are new medical examination guidelines and procedures for live in caregiver applicants who are applying from within Canada for permanent residence. In the past, all applicants and dependants abroad were required to undergo and pass a medical exam.

ANCOP Canada to build more homes with preferred program partner

ANCOP Canada has announced that donations to build new ANCOP homes will now be directed to CFC ANCOP-Tekton Foundation.

This follows after ANCOP Canada, through its president Artemio ‘Temi’ Pangilinan, signed an agrement to this effect in Manila recently with CFC ANCOP Tekton Foundation Inc.
