Aquino to announce Cabinet members before inauguration

President-elect Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino 3rd on Thursday said he would announce his official family “shortly before the inauguration.”
Aquino refused to identify his prospective Cabinet members, saying that his search committee is still in the process of vetting the candidates.
His legal counsel, lawyer Paquito Ochoa, said that they are busy attending to nominees to the Cabinet.
“We are evaluating the names proposed by various people,” he added.
Ochoa, who would also be part of the Aquino Cabinet as Executive Secretary, said that they have not filled all the Cabinet positions.
“Right now, they’re not filled up in the sense that he [Aquino] has not yet chosen anyone. What we did, we have proposed at least three names for him to consider so that he can consider that a short list from which he will pick the right ones,” he added.
Ochoa said that they are preparing for the transition.
Malacañang, he added, has been “very cooperative and cordial. I don’t see any problem in the transition.”
"It’s going to be very smooth,” Ochoa said.
Aquino’s legal counsel also said that they are yet to determine where to hold the inauguration but they are considering two locations — the Luneta [Rizal Park] and the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
“I think we are more inclined to pick Quezon Memorial Circle because of its historical value, because it is where the monument of our first president [Manuel Quezon] is,” he added.
Aquino, who was proclaimed on Wednesday by Congress as the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines, is the son of late former President Corazon Aquino and late former Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.
