Filipino Open Tennis - July 3-4, 2010
Sunday, 06.27.2010, 09:21pm (GMT-5)

Once again summer is here and the Filipino Tennis Open is alive and kicking in Brampton. Last year’s tournament was a success as usual thanks to Dr. Vince Murphy, Tennis Commissioner Xavier Alba, Atty. Marilou Nejal, Jasmin, Ludy, the Don Mill Tennis Club for their continued support and organizers Clair Juanites and yours truly Lakay of the Brampton Tennis Club.

The Filipino Open is a caliber tennis competition, but club players need not fear for they fall into their own category. Sadly this is the main reason why most Filipinos did not join last year. After the 1st round, winners will be classified into class A and losers would have a good experience going into the 2nd round classified as class B which will technically place you in your level. So, no worries, especially for the Mississauga players.

Once again I am extending my invitation to the Seven Oaks Tennis Club headed by Frank Bascos and any Filipino Club Pros such as Fish Nery and Odi Gabriel former Davis Cup player from the Philippines to represent our community.

Come join and enjoy good food, beer, pulutan and meet old acquaintances and make new friends!

2009 Class A Champion: Mario Bozic - Pavel Wegrzyn
2009 Class A Runner-up: Luke Maracic - Paul Klak
2009 Class B Champion: Homer Babalo - Carlo Santiago with the organizers.
2009 Class B Ruunner-up: Ben Kusz - John Nguyen
