Star Music soon to release album of ‘The Gold Squad’

Since ABS-CBN’s “Kadenang Ginto” began airing in October 2018, the rivalry of its lead stars Beauty Gonzalez and Dimples Romana has kept the audience glued to the afternoon drama series.

Armed with snappy banters, physical confrontations and dramatic scenes, “Kadenang Ginto” continues to win the audience what with its recent all-time high rating of 27.3 percent and its constant 20 percent audience rating, according to Kantar Media.

On social media, “Kadenang Ginto” is also a huge winner — its daily highlights on YouTube hit over 800 million total views, with almost each video reaching more than one million views.

The series is also a major hit on iWant, the network’s on-demand video streaming app, as it topped the list of most watched programs with over 1.5 million views daily.

The afternoon series has given birth to ‘Gold Squad’ comprised of Seth Fedelin, Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz and Kyle Echarri.

The show was also hailed the Best Daytime Series in the 2019 Golden Laurel Awards at the University of the Philippines-Batangas for its gripping scenes and compelling story.

Recently though, Gonzalez and Romana’s trending catfights are not the only reason to watch the afternoon soap. The equally intriguing rivalry of young stars Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz has built a bigger fan base with their own characters’ rivalry getting more intense.

And with the addition of their on screen partners Seth Fedelin — a former “PBB Otso” housemate — and Kyle Echarri, the show has garnered even more followers from younger audiences.

It came then as no surprise that the creators of the show, Dreamscape Entertainment, has given the quartet their own spotlight.

Dubbed as “The Gold Squad,” Diaz, Brillantes, Echarri and Fedelin are now known as the four fun, responsible, driven, and family-oriented teens from different backgrounds with diverse life experiences.

“I’m really happy with how the show has turned out. I also didn’t expect na magiging ‘Gold Squad’ kami sa ‘Kadenang Ginto’,” shared Echarri, who added that whenever they go out right now, they are called with their characters’ name and no longer in their own names.

Brillantes, meanwhile, attributes the success of the young stars’ storyline with its relatability with the young audience.

“Tingin ko po maraming natutuwa, maraming nakaka-relate kasi lahat naman tayo nagkakagusto sa hindi tayo gusto so feeling ko nakakahugot yung viewers dun,” Brillantes said.

Together, “The Gold Squad” will bring surprises that their young fans will be able to relate to, starting off with their own album that will soon be released by Star Music.

Besides “The Gold Squad,” more unexpected revelations will grip viewers now that Romina (Gonzalez) is finally acquitted from the case filed against her. But Daniela (Romana) will fight to not be dethroned and will do what it takes to defeat her mortal enemy. Seeing her mother struggle because of Romina, Marga’s (Brillantes) hatred toward Cassie (Diaz) will grow even more and make her realize that she is not worthy of being a Mondragon.

“Kadenang Ginto” airs weekdays after “It’s Showtime.”
