Las Vegas, Nevada: Emmanuel “Jimuel” Pacquiao Jr. has predicted that his father Manny Pacquiao would end up as the winner against Keith Thurman in two ways when the two clash on Sunday (Philippine time) here at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
“If Keith Thurman is going to fight toe-to-toe like he said, then it’s probably a late round stoppage [in favor of Pacquiao]. But if he’s going to run around then, it’s probably a decision,” Jimuel told The Manila Times.
Limuel, 18, is currently competing as an amateur under the tutelage of coach Jill Lubaton.
Limuel said he’s not sure if he can still box at the age of 40 like his father.
“I don’t know what’s the feeling if you’re at that age. Right now I’m still young and it is still easy to train but I don’t know how it would feel at that age, it depends,” said Jimuel, who took a break from training to support his father.
“I will rest for this week since it’s Dad’s fight. When I get home, I’ll return to training.”
Jimuel also said that he has no strength and conditioning coach and just follows his father’s basic conditioning program.
“Actually I have only one coach [Lubaton]. But it’s up to me if I run in the morning, do sit ups and push ups or the other training programs that I need. It’s more the same as my Dad’s. I do roadwork and gym work,” he said.
Jimuel won via unanimous against Daryl Kim Marquez in Muntinlupa City recently.
