Adamson improved its win-loss record to 4-6.

“It’s been awhile since I was here. Basically, I think we really need this win. Like what I’ve mentioned during the postgame interview against Ateneo, every game for us now is important. I guess that’s why we’re successful today because the bench really helped the starters.”

The Falcons turned a 40-44 deficit late in the third frame to a 59-49 lead with 6:52 left in the game. An 11-2 run in the middle of the fourth quarter highlighted by Manlapaz’s baskets earned Adamson a hefty 70-51 cushion with 2:29 left.

Adamson held on as NU scored only two points in the last six minutes of the game.

“We really need this win so we helped each other. We struggled in the first half and coach wanted to see some intensity so we played really hard in the second half,” Manlapaz said in Filipino.

Jerrick Ahanmisi scored 15 points, Manlapaz scattered 10 of his 14 points in the last quarter while Simon Camacho contributed 13 points.

Congolese Lenda Douanga finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds while Jerom Lastimosa had 10 points and nine assists also for Adamson.

Dave Ildefonso had 15 points while Issa Gaye registered 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

NU’ win-loss record dropped to 2-8.
