October 17, 2019

Get ready to be swept off your feet as romantic pop balladeer Ronnie Liang gears up for his solo concert entitled “Love X Romance” on November 8 at the Music Museum.

Joining him on this one-night-only show are hit singer Janine Tenoso, social media celebrity-actress Ella Cruz and the one and only Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo.

Love X Romance isn’t just a showcase of heart-melting music from Liang but also a celebration of his achievements just this past year alone—from seeing through and finishing his flying course to releasing his full-length album “12” to commemorate his dozen years in showbiz, down to topping the radio hit charts.

The album is in fact Liang’s most successful release yet, with his singles “Yakap” and “Ligaya” (a cover of the hit E-heads song) reigning supreme over the radio for many consecutive weeks. To date, said songs are still enjoying a prolonged stay at in the Top 10 charts.

Speaking of E-heads covers, the group Eraserheads still serves as shining example to today’s new artists.

After several tribute albums and singles dedicated to the Pinoy Fab Four during the early 2000s, now is time for the new generation of OPM acts to remake their songs to make them known to the younger generation.

A new generation of OPM acts remakes Eraserheads songs for ‘Pop Machine’ album.

Out now on digital platforms are two versions of Eraserheads’ songs recorded by the current hottest acts in OPM; “Alapaap” by the duo Leanne and Naara and “Minsan” by Makata-pop band Munimuni. Tomorrow, October 18, two more E-heads covers will be released: “Tindahan ni Aling Nena” by Ciudad and “Julie Tearjerky” by Oh, Flamingo.

These four songs are part of the upcoming compilation of Eraserheads’ covers, titled “Pop Machine,” to be digitally distributed by Ditto Music. It will have 12 Eraserheads track versions by 12 artists from different genres and rising OPM acts. After the release of the four singles, two new songs will be released every other week until December 2019, and a full album containing all 12 tracks will be launched in 2020, along with a vinyl record.

Another concert to look forward to this November is that of Brian McFadden, Irish singer and songwriter who rose to fame in 1998 as a member of the Irish boy band Westlife. He will perform in Cebu at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on November 16, and then in Manila at the New Frontier Theatre on November 17.

Brian McFadden of Westlife

In June 1998, McFadden joined the Irish boy band Westlife alongside Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan. Together, they made chart topping songs, “Swear It Again,” “Queen of My Heart” and “World of Our Own,” among so many others.

In 2004, McFadden left the group to spend more time with his family. Following his departure from Westlife, he released his debut solo single “Real to Me” which became his first solo No.1 single.

He toured with Keith Duffy, formerly of Boyzone, as Boyzlife from 2016 to 2018. But for his Philippine concerts, his promoters promise it’ll be more of his Westlife hits on the repertoire as well as his solos “Like Only A Woman Can” and “Real To Me.”

His special guest is Idol Philippines Grand Champion, Zephanie Dimaranan who is set to have a duet with the visiting artist.

Tickets are now available through SM Tickets and Ticketnet.
