‘Ogie and the Hurados’ set for sold out RWM show tonight

October 10, 2019

“We are proud to announce that ‘Ogie and the Hurados’ is completely sold out for the show on October 10,” singer-songwriter and OPM bigwig Ogie Alcasid happily posted on Facebook at the start of the week. It therefore goes without saying that he is pumped to go on stage tonight at Resorts World Manila’s award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT), together with a roster of the most iconic and recognizable figures in it’s “Showtime’s” reality talent search “Tawag ng Tanghalan.”

Part of RWM’s 10th anniversary celebration, Alcasid told The Manila Times it was his idea to bring the “Hurados” together when NPAT invited him to perform for the banner year anew.

“Mahilig kasi kami mag-jam ng mga Hurados so sabi ko, gawin nalang natin ito na concert,” chuckled the well-loved singer and comedian. “So our songs will be the really challenging songs contestants sing in competitions — mga ‘My Way,’ ‘Delilah’ and so on.”

Joining the Singer-Songwriter for this grand scale jam are Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, “Mr. Shades” Randy Santiago, actress-singer Karla Estrada, comedian-singer K Brosas, singer Karylle, ballader Jed Madela and singer-hitmaker Rey Valera.

And with the supposed one-night only concert already sold out, Alcasid was also happy to announce that a November 8 repeat has already been set with ticket details to follow.

“To God be the glory,” he praised. “I promise everyone, we’re all going to have fun.

Curtain’s up tonight for Ogie and the Hurados at 8 p.m. with musical direction from Nikko Rivera, a script by JJ Henson and concert direction from Paolo Bustamante.
