The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Friday issued a show cause order against the operator of Joanna Jesh Transport and its driver who was caught on video speeding on Edsa.
In a one page order, LTO asked the bus company’s operator and driver to answer in writing within five days why its Certificate of Public Convenience shall not be cancelled for alleged violation of the terms and conditions of its franchise.
The agency also ordered the operator and driver to appear on Tuesday, 28 July, at 9 a.m. and explain regarding the video that circling around social media.
In a video taken by a concerned citizen, and now posted on the official Facebook page of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), shows a bus of Joanna Jesh speeding on Edsa, and hitting two road barricades unknowingly.
“The DOTr strongly condemns the driver of the Joanna Jesh Transport bus for gross violation of road transport rules, as captured in a video by a concerned netizen,” DOTr said.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade ordered an investigation of the incident.
