The Department of Tourism (DoT) greenlighted venues and facilities in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) to hold meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE).
Business meetings, congresses, conventions, incentive trips, product presentations, business courses, conferences, and seminars are also included in the activities permitted.
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, however, stressed that only 50 percent capacity will be allowed for each activity.
Based on the guidelines released by the DoT, persons below 21 and those over 60 years old are still prohibited from participating in any MICE event.
Even under an MGCQ, the age-groups are not allowed outside of their homes by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID).
The guidelines also stressed that the rules on interzonal and intrazonal movements under the IATF-EID shall be observed.
MICE organizers are required to formulate an emergency preparedness plan against the spread of infection in MICE events.
The venue operator is required to designate an isolation room based on the prescribed protocols of the Department of Health.
Physical distancing is a must in all events.
