In an article published on ABS-CBN, the partnership is said to have happened after Brightlight Productions secured block time slots with the Manny Pangilinan-led network.
According to the report, the aim is to reawaken “Filipino TV viewing habits that may have waned in the past few months of crisis.”
These ABS-CBN stars will soon be seen on TV5
Titles that viewers could expect airing on TV5 soon include “Laugh Out Loud,” which is a noontime show hosted by Billy Crawford, Alex Gonzaga, K Brosas, and Wacky Kiray with Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan sitting as producer.
The 72-year-old Mr. M will also wear the director’s hat for a “Sunday noontime variety show” featuring Piolo Pascual and Catriona Gray.
On the other hand, Edgar Mortiz is set to direct “Sunday Kada Kada Sunday,” while director Dan Villegas will be working with the likes of Beauty Gonzales, RK Bagatsing, and Yen Santos on the romantic-drama series “I Got You.”
There’s also the reboot of Korina Sanchez’s “Rated K,” which will be known as “Rated Korina.”
Last but not the least, is the sitcom “Oh My Dad” to be helmed by Jeffrey Jeturian, starring Ian Veneracion, Dimples Romana, Sue Ramirez, Ariel Urieta, and Gloria Diaz.
Recall that last July, 70 lawmakers voted against the company’s franchise bid, while only 11 voted in favor of the same.
ABS-CBN stopped operations on May 4, the day its previous 25-year congressional franchise expired.
A day after the said news, GMA Network, in a rare instance, aired the messages of ABS-CBN executives.
