A low pressure area is causing rains in southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao today, according to PAGASA.

The LPA spotted at 225 kilometers west-northwest of Catarman, Northern Samar and 40 kilometers west of Pili, Camarines Sur may intensify into a tropical storm tomorrow or on Thursday. If it becomes a storm, it will be named Leon.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Mindanao and Aurora are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms today.

The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to thunderstorms.
