A magnitude-5.7 quake jolted Sarangani, Davao Occidental, before noon Wednesday, but no damage is expected, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The quake struck 11:41 a.m., some 208 kilometers of the town, the PHIVOLCS said in its website.
It was which was tectonic in origin and its focus was located some 65 kilometers below the surface, the agency said.
While the quake is not expected to cause damage, aftershocks are expected to occur, PHIVOLCS said.
