Why it’s important to be protected, according to Nico and Solenn Bolzico

The harsh reality about 2020 is that it probably isn’t going to end well. Effects of the pandemic, according to WHO, will be felt for decades to come. People all over the world are experiencing fear, panic, and anxiety, too.

But in all of these, we can find hope in children, whose lives depend on how their parents would choose to handle the current situation. When we think about children, we want to prepare for what might happen in the future. It is, of course, the parents’ responsibility to make sure they get to live on a livable planet in the years to come.

Despite the ongoing crisis, Solenn and her husband Nico Bolzico find a silver lining in their daughter Thylane Katana. It’s been the best nine months, having their bundle of joy around. “Becoming a mom is the best experience of my life—it can be overwhelming but it’s very rewarding,” Solenn said during an online talk show called Tea Time with the Bolzicos, which was sponsored by AIA Philam Life. “When I gave birth, I researched immediately about what vaccines I should take and which ones are the most important. Because as parents, we always want to prepare and control everything to protect our kids.”

And because we’re staring down a deadly virus, which we’re currently unable to control, they are thankful that they have peace of mind knowing that their family is “protected” by the insurance company that they trust—Philam Life.

“At the end of the day, life happens. It does not always go as planned,” Solenn said. “You can prepare, but you cannot foresee exactly what’s going to happen. So when you’re planning for the future, you want to be one step ahead of the game.”

Getting medical insurance for their child rarely crosses the minds of most parents. The more pressing matter, especially for first-time parents, is immediate physical needs. But the truth is, a child’s medical needs can be costly, and with a huge percent of health expenses coming from the household budget, this can be a burden to many.

As a company committed to developing products that address the needs of its customers, the insurance company introduced AIA Med-Assist for children, its variable life insurance plan designed to address medical expenses of 0 to 17 year olds. It covers 90 percent of in-patient hospitalization with a life insurance benefit and an investment fund that can help parents build their own medical fund in the future.

“Most parents will agree that the first five years is the most vulnerable age of children so we wanted a product that could give parents peace of mind in case of hospitalization,” AIA Philam Life head of products Tennyson Paras said during the event. “As a parent myself, I understand the additional burden that these unexpected medical expenses have on families. With AIA Med-Assist, they can simply focus on taking care of their children and recovery.”
