President Snow of the popular trilogy ‘The Hunger Games’ will take the centerstage on the upcoming film adaptation of prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly for New York Comic Con, the trilogy’s book publisher and showrunner David Levithan and Nina Jacobson shared bits about the said prequel.
According to Levithan, Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins did the prequel to look into “how does human nature turn into who Snow becomes.”
He added that the concept was inspired from the long-term philosophical discussion of John Lock and Jean Jacques-Rousseau on social contract.
The prequel is set 64 years before the time of the trilogy and the commencement of Hunger Games will now be seen from the protagonist’s perspective.
Meanwhile, Jacobson was more secretive in giving away details as it was too early to discuss it.
