Quarantine rules have eased up, but many people choose to stay at home for fear of catching COVID-19.
Food merchants, meanwhile, have been trying to make ends meet in terms of operation and revenue as the world struggles to survive the pandemic.
Addressing the challenge to help reinvigorate the local food service industry, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has launched a social media campaign to bring life back to the local food service industry.
Fab Food Finds is an online site of Filipino food service providers designed to reach a wider audience through their respective signature dishes made with the finest ingredients.
Among the participants are Azuthai Restaurant, Cirkulo, Cibo, La Petite Fromagerie, Ome Japanese Café, Sizzlin’ Steak, Sourdough Café and Deli, Teriyaki Boy, The Plaza and Yellow Cab Pizza Co.
For a minimum order, customers get free Fab Food Finds treats, from appetizers to entrees.
The promo includes complimentary Pan Aux Raisin, US Beef Salpicao or US Beef Bourguignon at Sourdough Cafe with every order of the signature US Steak Fillet or US Wagyu dishes; free tapioca Coconut Cream for an order of Azuthai Restaurant’s Grilled US Beef Ribs with Tamarind Sauce.
The promo runs until 27 November or until supplies last. It is valid for dine-in, takeout, delivery or pick-up transactions.
“As a long-time partner of the Philippines, we hope this timely initiative will help bring back appetites for the delicious culinary creations of local caterers and restaurants,” said Morgan Haas, agricultural counselor of the USDA, Foreign Agricultural Service. “In turn, we hope this will help bolster the industry’s efforts towards recovery.”
