If drinking too much wine is a crime, this is where we want to see our mugshot
Website 2shotsandapint.comshares 19 Crimes Wine’s ingenious idea of having a customizable mugshot as a wine bottle label. This is inspired by “the 19 crimes that would have merited the sentence of ‘transportation’ from Britain to Australia back in the 1700s, which included grand larceny, clandestine marriage, bigamy, and—believe it or not—impersonating an Egyptian.”
“Speaking for a number of people who have expressed their interest in procuring said wines as holiday presents, they find the novelty of giving bottles that have photos of the recipient—along with a goofy ‘crime’ that fits the person—appealing… bonus points with the fact that it is a pretty good wine,” say Gail Sotelo, head of 2shotsandapint.comand an adjunct professor for the wine program at Enderun Colleges.
Being a drink consultant for restaurants, corporate clients, and private individuals, Sotelo knows the perfect components that make a good bottle of wine. For her customized 19 Crimes Wine bottle, she got a Cabernet Sauvignon from Southeast Australia.
According to Sotelo, at the moment, people could avail of the wines via boozeshop.ph. Once an order is placed, someone from site should get back to the person for a photo, the “crime,” and a prisoner number.
Cheers to the infamous!
