You’re not the only one feeling down this holiday season. Don’t blame it on the grinch though, he didn’t steal the joyful atmosphere this time. The COVID-19 pandemic did.

Does it sound surprising that we are only 16 days away from Christmas? It was in March when the government announced a Luzon-wide lockdown, and now we are on our ninth month of quarantine. To make matters worse, there’s a possibility that this could continue next year.

It’s December and the workplace party season is officially back, but virtually. Even with these changes and uncertainties, there are ways to celebrate the most-wonderful time of the year with your colleagues.

KEEP your party exciting with a virtual exchange of gifts.

Have creative holiday themes

The key to a happy office Christmas party is its theme. Choose one that would keep the employees interested and engaged. Make them dress up and use a special Zoom background. The quirkier your chosen theme is, the better.

Send digital invitations

Sending out digital invitations will help encourage your team to attend the virtual party. Of course, design it based on your chosen party theme. You can go simple with it or as formal as you like.

VIRTUAL parties help employees mingle with their remote colleagues.

Have food packs, treats delivered

Look for third-party suppliers such as events companies or hotels which can curate a food menu that the team could eat while on a Zoom party. Or, tap an events organizer that would stage your virtual party for you.

Keep it engaging with games

Include fun activities such as team-building games, online Christmas Carol sessions, virtual holiday photo booth and Secret Santa in your party. Do not forget to put a strict budget limit and theme for the gifts to make it more fun and a bit challenging. This is a great way to get the team involved and happy throughout the virtual party.
