In Lanao del Norte, security forces shot dead on Sunday afternoon the most wanted person in Tagoloan town.
The fatality, Mohammad Ali Abdulwahid (alias Muka), shot it out with lawmen who tried to arrest him. He then held his wife hostage, according to Col. Rolindo Suguilon, officer-in-charge of the Lanao del Norte provincial police.
The operation to arrest Abdulwahid began 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Barangay Dimayon but dragged on until the next day when he took his second wife, 37-year-old Norhanie Ali Palao, hostage.
Abdulwahid faced arrest for murder and two counts of frustrated murder. He refused to surrender, prompting police to seek reinforcement from the Army’s 42nd Mechanized Company.
