Ricky Cuenca – A new face at Action Honda

Ricky Cuenca, a fresh new face at Action Honda is this car dealership’s newest Sales Consultant.  For those who don’t know, Ricky’s illustrious career has come full circle, and what a joyful ride it was.

In 1976, armed with a BS Commerce degree major in Business Administration from the De La Salle University (DLSU) in Manila, Ricky plunged himself into the automotive and finance world, starting as a dealer coordinator with Filinvest Credit Corporation in the Philippines by facilitating floor stock financing to various car dealers and providing credit and leasing facilities to customers.  He then moved up in 1980 to become General Manager of Legacy Motor Sales & Service, an auto dealership in Manila, where he honed his managerial and interpersonal skills while consistently achieving profit and budget targets.  For over 16 years, Ricky demonstrated his exceptional aptitude towards combining sound business practices with solid human interactions and collaboration, an excellent trait that propelled him to the next chapter of his successful career.

In 1997, he and his family moved to Canada because he heard a calling to serve the Lord full time through Couples for Christ (CFC).  CFC is an international Catholic lay ecclesiastical movement whose goal is to enrich marriage, strengthen family and Christian values.  At CFC Canada, he became the National Director (1997-2008) where he delivered essential services such as providing aid and counselling to members, conducting formation and training seminars and organizing various outreach programs designed to promote the vision and mission of CFC.  Ricky’s managerial and organizational skills didn’t go unnoticed as he later, from 2011 to 2014, was named Chairman of the CFC Global Mission, Inc. with headquarters in Manila.

It was not inconceivable therefore that in dispensing the humanitarian and spiritual duties required in his varied roles with Couples of Christ, Ricky redirected his efforts to serve and help the poor through Ancop ( Answering the Cry of the Poor).  Since 2002, Ricky was the familiar, friendly face of ANCOP International Canada Inc., a charitable and cause-oriented entity whose dedicated goal is to uplift the lives of poor families in developing countries through child sponsorship, humanitarian relief and community development.  It was within the auspices of ANCOP where Ricky’s talent and natural penchant to help his fellowmen truly shone.  During his tenure ANCOP Canada raised substantial amount of funds that significantly alleviated the flight of needy families, not only in the Philippines but also in other poor, less-developed countries in Asia and Africa.  Through sheer hard work, diligence and commitment, Ricky and the Ancop team accomplished many of Ancop’s humanitarian objectives by involving several communities and organizations through its annual charity walk events and other fundraising activities. Ancop was able to tap various companies , communities,  groups and individuals for sponsorships and donations – funds that were used to build homes for the homeless, send poor children to schools and sponsor aspiring young men towards their vocation for priesthood.

After announcing his retirement Ricky realized he was not ready to fully retire and decided to return to his first love and come full circle – a career in the automotive industry. He opted to join the sales force of Action Honda Inc. in Scarborough.  As a full-time Sales Consultant, Ricky will be the newest friendly face of this well-known and widely patronized Filipino-Canadian car dealership in the Greater Toronto Area.  Similar to what he accomplished in his previous callings, Ricky would certainly extend the usual friendly, helpful and smart assistance to everyone that comes to him at Action Honda for vehicle advice and support.

Ricky can be reached through his phone (647-9811701) or via email at ricky@myactionhonda.com.  Better still, meet him in person in his office at 4334 Kingston Road, Scarborough.

Yes, from his early stint with Filinvest Credit and Legacy Motor Sales & Service in the Philippines some four decades ago, to this recent appointment in Action Honda’s sales department, it is full circle indeed for Ricky!
