The local government of Bukidnon announced on Saturday that it has canceled its annual “Kaamulan Festival” — a gathering of Bukidnon tribes which has become a tradition since the province was founded in 1914.
Bukidnon Governor Jose Maria Zubiri announced that the tribal festival held every March will be canceled again to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
“Most of us are looking forward to celebrate Kaamulan festival this year, but as much as I wanted to push the grand celebration, the public health and safety of the people has always been my topmost priority,” Zubiri said.
Since the founding of Bukidnon in 1914, the province has been celebrating “Kaamulan festival” which has become a major tourist destination in the province
