Sting operation nets P1.7M drugs

CABANATUAN CITY — Some P1.7 million worth of suspected illegal drugs were confiscated while three suspects arrested by the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) on Saturday.

According to NEPPO director Police Col. Jaime Santos, the three suspects were identified as Teresita Francisco y Nuñez, alias “Tess,” 49 years old, married and jobless; Michael Correa y Montes, alias “Paleng,” 38 years old, single, vendor; and Celedonia Caseria y Jaime, 66 years old.

The sting operation was conducted by operatives of the Cabanatuan City Police Station-DEU and CSOG at Zone 1 in Barangay Camp Tinio, Cabanatuan City on Saturday.

A total of 53 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, said to be containing shabu were confiscated.

Police said the total weight is about 250.23 grams and has a total street value of P1,701,564.

Authorities also said that the three suspects will be charged for Violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165.
