A grassfire hit parts of Mount Kulago, a popular destination of hikers in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, but no damage to property nor casualty was reported.
Authorities learned of the fire on Wednesday, when someone reported it, said FO1 Raycris Mabanto, of the Impasug-ong Fire Station.
Personnel of the fire station were sent to the area after that to conduct an assessment, and found that the blaze posed no danger as it was far from homes, Mabanto said by phone.
The local BFP unit was unable to give an estimate on how much area was affected by the grassfire.
Pictures posted on social media by a travel company appear to show that several hectares of grassland were already affected as of Wednesday afternoon.
Mabanto said that as of Thursday, the blaze was already starting to die down and Kulago was experiencing rains.
Personnel of the BFP are still “monitoring” the situation, he said.
