LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN — The provincial government of Pangasinan and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office I recently provided financial assistance to 470 Pangasinenses as boost amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
The assistance is part of a three-day distribution of the two agencies that was held from 25 to 27 May.
The provincial government said that 193 Pangasinenses from Alcala, Bautista, Laoac, Pozorrubio, Sto. Tomas, Sison, Villasis, and Urdaneta City (District 5) and Asingan, Balungao, Natividad, Rosales, San Manuel, San Nicolas, San Quintin, Sta. Maria and Tayug (District 6) received assistance on 27 May.
Meantime, at least 129 Pangasinenses from Bayambang, Calasiao, Malasiqui, Mapandan, Sta. Barbara and San Carlos, Malasiqui, Mapandan, Sta. Barbara and Sta. Barbara District 3; Manaoag, Mapandan, Mangaldan, San Fabian and San Jacinto (District 3); Bugallon (District 2); and Anda (District 1) also got cash assistance on 26 May.
Some 158 other beneficiaries, on the other hand, received their financial assistance on 25 May. These residents are from Alaminos City, Agno, Bani, Burgos, Infanta, Mabini and Sual (District 1), Aguilar, Basista, Binmaley, Labrador, Lingayen, Mangatarem and Urbiztondo (District 2).
The agency disclosed that the three-day financial assistance is intended for Pangasinenses in crisis situations — including those individuals who are indigent, abandoned and neglected senior citizens and solo parents.
