Anti-drug agents seize over P1M shabu

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two drug peddlers in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi and seized from their possession about 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P1.020 million.

PDEA from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) reported that it carried out the buy-bust operation at Sitio Bakud, Barangay Tubig Basag, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Wednesday.

The PDEA-BARMM said that it was able to seize about 150 grams of suspected shabu worth about P1.020 million from the possession of the two suspects.

Investigations reveal that the suspects — identified as Mardin Nasirin Karim alias Aldin, a resident of Barangay Kulape, Panglima Sugala, Tawi-Tawi and Rashidin Timhar Linsahan, a resident of Sitio Arafat, Barangay Sipangkot, Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi — were allegedly responsible in distribution and sale of illegal drugs in the province.

Also confiscated from the possession of Karim and Linsahan were three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing about 150 grams of suspected shabu, the buy-bust money, one paper bag, one small backpack color yellow and blue and one unit cellphone.
