Male pedestrian dies in hospital after collision in Brampton

Peel police were called to a collision in Brampton, where a male pedestrian was fatally struck Thursday evening.
A male pedestrian has succumbed to his injuries after being fatally struck by the driver of a vehicle Thursday evening, according to police 

Peel police said they were called to a collision at Bovaird Drive and Kennedy Road in Brampton around 6:30 p.m.

Police said they found a male in his 70s with serious injuries who was taken to a local hospital where he later died. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Police confirmed that the vehicle that hit the pedestrian was a white unmarked truck. Police were also inspecting a black sedan on scene, but is it not yet known how the sedan was involved in the collision.

Kennedy Road is closed between Wexford Road and Rutherford Road. Bovaird Drive was closed between Richvale Drive and Conestoga Drive.

The Major Collision Bureau is investigating this collision. Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area and who may have dashcam footage to contact investigators.
