Ambassador Robles Bids Farewell To Global Affairs Canada Officials

Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles called on Global Affairs Canada Assistant Deputy Minister Paul Thoppil, Chief of Protocol Stewart Wheeler, and Director General Peter Lundy on 20 June 2022 to thank them for their friendship and support during his tenure.

ADM Thoppil congratulated Ambassador Robles for the impressive progress the Credentials Recognition in Canada (CRC) Project is making at the provincial levels. He noted that “the timing was right because Canadians from coast to coast to coast understood the immense value of the Filipino Canadian contribution to Canadian society during the pandemic.”

The CRC Project, initiated by Ambassador Robles, was launched by the Embassy on 1 June 2021 to help address the challenges faced by internationally educated Filipino professionals, especially nurses, in having their credentials recognized by various provinces in the country.

There are an estimated 1 million Filipinos who now call Canada their second home.
