Robredo mounts relief operations in Bulusan

THE Office of the Vice President (OVP) has prepared relief operations for families affected by the eruption of Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon on Sunday.

“We are currently preparing for our relief operations in Bulusan, Sorsogon and the surrounding areas,” Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo said on Twitter Sunday.

Masks and bottled water were the immediate needs that were identified, Robredo said.

“Our team will be travelling to Sorsogon ASAP. Will continue to update you of other needs,” she said.

“Affected areas for now are Juban and Irosin,” she added.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that Bulusan Volcano spewed a column of steam for about 17 minutes on Sunday.
