Filipinos surely love a good shopping deal that’s why double-digit sales from e-commerce platforms are always much-anticipated. But what do they buy?
Based on Southeast Asia e-commerce platform Lazada’s figure from the latest double-digit sale — the 9.9 Mega Brands Sale which happened from September 9 to 11 — consumers added to their carts more beauty, fashion, and health and wellness products. They make the top categories during Lazada’s three-day sale.
Particularly, on 9 September, four-times more vouchers were redeemed compared to the 9.9 campaign in 2021. Consumers also doubled their shopping time spent on the app.
With outdoor activities resuming, Filipinos are also purchasing more bags and travel items and athleisure (a combination of athletic and leisure) wear compared to just a few months ago. Bags and travel purchases increased by 83-percent compared to the Epic 10th Birthday Sale that took place on March 27.
Finally, top consumer favorites on September 9 include unisex cotton jogger pants and Kérastase Genesis Anti Hair Fall Fortifying Serum.
It’s worth noting that Lazada’s 9.9 Mega Brands Sale is only the first of its year-end mega campaigns, which could signal bigger deals and bigger spendings as Filipinos stock up for Holiday gift-giving.
