(UPDATED) FORMER University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon Carl Tamayo has signed a deal with the Ryukyu Golden Kings in the Japan B.League.
The team made the announcement on Twitter on Wednesday.
“Hi! I am Carl Tamayo. I am 21 years old, from the Philippines. I am honored and very excited to be part of this great organization, Ryukyu Golden Kings. Can't wait to play with you guys! See you soon!” Tamayo said in a video message posted by the team.
The former University Athletic Association of the Philippines Rookie of the Year and Season 84 Mythical Five member also confirmed his signing on his Instagram stories.
The Golden Kings are in 5th place out of 24 teams in the Japan B.League with 21 wins and 7 losses.

Tamayo replaces former PBA first overall draft pick Jay Washington who was released by Ryukyu last December. He now plays for the Yokohama Excellence in the Japan B3 League.
