The Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians hosted a farewell party for Consul General Orontes V. Castro on Sunday, March 26. It was well attended by the MFFC youth and seniors of the organization with many coming out to give a sweet farewell message to our beloved ConGen. The Honourable Consul General Castro gave a speech and recalled special memories with the MFFC, billing them as the first to give him a warm celebratory welcome in Toronto. He felt it was only right that the MFFC would also be the last few people he would see before his trip.
MFFC member Karen Tan, the Youth group Re-Choired and the Seniors performed a few numbers for him and at the end of the show, they had him dancing along with him.
Everyone had a wonderful time and we will truly miss this wonderful man that we can all call our friend. Thank you ConGen Castro and have a safe trip home. — Karen Tan
