Work Life Balance for LBC Staff

In a recent interview with Raffy Policarpio, Country Head of LBC, the Philippines’ premier cargo-forwarding business entity, the working conditions and lifestyle habits of the company’s workforce in Canada was discussed. In conformity with global trends and practices, according to Raffy, LBC has adopted various programs that would provide work-life balance in the workplace.

For instance, at LBC’s Toronto office, several team-building activities are regularly scheduled, like the men’s bi-weekly pickup basketball game, or indoor badminton or bowling tournaments for the entire workforce in summer. These activities allow the employees to de-stress from their daily grind while at the same time providing opportunities for group bonding and the exchange of productive ideas among management and staff. Of course, within the entire LBC organization, employee salaries and benefits are constantly being reviewed to make them competitive and fair. Also, LBC adheres to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion as part of the company’s governance and corporate responsibility.

By making the employees happy and satisfied with their jobs through work-life balance arrangements, the company can deliver quality products and outstanding services to its customers, mainly due to the efforts of its highly motivated workforce.

For example, starting May 15 this year, loyal LBC customers may now be able to send air cargo without any minimum weight requirements. This means that if one wants to send a mobile phone that weighs a pound or more, the customer could be paying as low as CAD 10.00 to send the item by air, excluding handling charges for electronics, of course. Similarly, if the customer simply wants to send a box of chocolates or cheese weighing 1 pound or under, the fee will be CAD 10.00 only, with no additional charges for these non-electronic items.

This popular sales offer by LBC becomes possible only because the entire LBC organization constantly maintains a cohesive and cooperative partnership between customers and the staff, driven by a satisfactory work-life balance at the workplace.
