Record 121 Philippine universities make Times Higher Education rankings

Higher education institutions (HEIs) in Asia claimed more than half of all places in the rankings, as an Asian university led 10 of the 17 individual SDG rankings.

The Philippines was the most represented state among ASEAN countries, ahead of the likes of Thailand with 85 universities and Indonesia with 76 universities.

Locally, Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) topped Philippine schools with a rank of 101-200. It is followed by Batangas State University, Isabela State University, and the University of the Philippines—all ranked at 401-600.

The country’s 121 HEIs in this year’s THE Impact Rankings more than double the 56 universities included in last year’s edition.

Globally, the Philippines trails only India with 147 universities and Pakistan with 126 universities among the ranking’s most represented countries.
