The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has rated Halloween-themed films hitting cinemas this week, reminding viewers to practice responsible viewing and ensure age-appropriate viewing for the whole family.
The Board rated and classified several Halloween films, offering a mix of bone-chilling scenes and family-friendly marathons to enjoy this spooky season.

Among the Filipino classics making a comeback on the big screen are “T2” starring the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, and “Wag Kang Lilingon” featuring Anne Curtis, Marvin Agustin and Kristine Hermosa. Both films received an R-13 rating, suitable only for viewers aged 13 and above, as they contain scenes that may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
Also rated R-13 are international films such as South Korea’s “No Other Choice,” and the hit supernatural thrillers “Annabelle Comes Home” and “The Conjuring” (Parts 1 and 2).
For older teens seeking a more terrifying experience, movies such as “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” “Sinners,” and “Shelby Oaks” received an R-16 rating, suitable for viewers 16 and above.
Meanwhile, horror enthusiasts aged 18 and above can brave the chilling scenes of “Halloween Ends,” which was rated R-18 for mature audiences.
For families looking for a lighter but magical viewing experience, the “Harry Potter” movie marathon is perfect. From the “Sorcerer’s Stone” to “Deathly Hallows Parts I and II,” all are rated G and PG, meaning children under 13 can enjoy the films with parental guidance.
Concert films such as “J-Hope Tour ‘Hope On The Stage’ the Movie,” “G Dragon In Cinema [Ubermensch],” and “Depeche Mode: M” also rated PG, perfect for music fans of all ages.
“We encourage parents and supervising adults to guide children in choosing age-appropriate content. Films and shows can be both entertaining and responsible when watched with proper guidance,” said Sotto.
