Bianca Gonzalez and Anne Curtis called out corruption on April Fools’ Day, saying the public continues to face the consequences of a broken system.
On Wednesday, April 1, Bianca expressed her frustration over long-standing issues that the Philippines has been facing.
“There is no April Fools because the joke has been on us for way too long. Patuloy na niloloko’t nililinlang pero wala pa ring nananagot at hindi pa rin inaayos ang mga bulok na sistema,” she wrote.
Her tweet appeared to refer to corruption issues in government, including ongoing investigations tied to flood control projects.
Anne later echoed the statement by reposting Bianca’s message and adding her own reaction.
“Huy! Please stop FOOLING us! Kawawa ‘yung mga Pilipino,” she wrote.
Both Bianca and Anne have previously spoken out on governance issues. In September last year, they joined thousands at the Trillion Peso March, a protest calling for accountability over alleged misuse of public funds.
