Cardi B wears Filipino couture piece on ‘Little Miss Drama’ tour

The American rapper turns up the drama with a custom piece crafted by local designer Rian Fernandez

When it comes to sickening looks, trust that Cardi B can deliver. From her red carpet appearances to street style sightings, the American rapper always finds a way to be extra in glamor, confidence, and body positivity. Her sense of style also echoes in the pieces she wears on stage—only this time, part of her repertoire is created by a Filipino designer.

In one of the stops of her “Little Miss Drama” concert tour, Cardi B was spotted wearing a creation by Filipino designer Rian Fernandez. The look is a bodysuit decked with colorful floral elements. According to the designer, the custom piece draws inspiration from “Latina Fiesta,” a celebration of culture, movement, and spirit.

“I envisioned something radiant and full of life, echoing the atmosphere of a bustling street market or a Caribbean festival,” Rian tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle.

The ensemble took over a month to finish, with embellishments and detailed handwork carefully placed to enhance both texture and stage appeal, while creating a balance between structure and fluidity.

“Her team provided a creative deck for each segment of the ‘Little Miss Drama’ tour,” the designer shares. “From there, I interpreted the direction and translated it into a design that aligns with the concept while maintaining a distinct identity.”

A master in creating ultra-glamorous looks, Rian has been a go-to designer in the pageant scene, with a roster of local and international beauty queens wearing his designs. His muses include Miss Universe winners R’Bonney Gabriel and Sheynnis Palacios. Seeing his work on a different stage felt like a natural evolution—proof that his signature drama, precision, and craftsmanship can transcend pageantry and command attention in any spotlight.

“It is both overwhelming and humbling. Seeing the piece come to life on a global stage is incredibly rewarding and reminds me why I pursue this craft with so much passion,” Rian concludes.
