Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday called on graduating cadets of the Philippine Military Academy “Talang Dangal” Class of 2026 to remain steadfast in defending the country’s sovereignty and protecting the liberties of Filipinos.
In a video message addressed to the graduating class, she congratulated the cadets for completing what she described as a “rigorous journey” marked by discipline, sacrifice, and duty.
“Your graduation is the culmination of a rigorous journey—one defined by discipline, sacrifice, and an unwavering sense of duty,” Duterte said, urging the graduates to uphold the values instilled by the academy as they begin their military service.
“As you step out of Fort Del Pilar, your lifelong commitment to the nation begins. Put to good use the training and values this institution has instilled in you,” she added.
The Vice President also called on the cadets to embody integrity and courage in the performance of their duties.
“I urge you to personify integrity and courage at all times. Stand firm against all threats to our sovereignty and our liberties. Do not waver, even in the face of the most difficult challenges,” Duterte said.
She thanked the graduates for choosing what she described as a “noble path” of public service, expressing hope their careers in the armed forces would reflect their commitment to protecting the country and promoting the welfare of Filipinos. — Charles Dantes
