Basic Energy Corp. and AC Mobility Holdings Inc. have completed and started commercial operations of two electric vehicle charging stations, marking the initial rollout of their nationwide EV charging network.
Basic Energy said the stations are located at the Total service station along the North Luzon Expressway and the EcoOil service station in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Basic Energy Renewables Corp., a subsidiary of Basic Energy, developed the stations in collaboration with AC Mobility, the Ayala Group’s mobility platform.
Each site has one 120-kilowatt direct-current fast charger and one 22-kilowatt alternating-current charger.
“These initial stations are fully operational and accessible to the public. Beyond these two locations, the partnership is actively progressing with the installation of additional charging sites,” Basic Energy said.
Basic Energy Renewables Corp. and AC Mobility continue to identify other strategic locations for the nationwide rollout of the EV charging network, the company said.
The companies are developing additional sites at varying stages: two are under construction at Total Sumulong and EcoOil Cainta; 16 are in the design and costing stages; 20 are undergoing site surveys; and at least 51 prospective sites are undergoing assessment and feasibility studies.
“This project aligns with the company’s strategic objective to expand its portfolio and actively participate in the development of the EV ecosystem in the Philippines,” Basic Energy said.
Basic Energy, AC Mobility, First Gen Corp. and Ecology Builders Development Corp. launched a transport solution program in April to help address the country’s fuel challenges brought about by the Middle East crisis.
The Electric Transport Solution Program is a comprehensive ecosystem designed to modernize the Philippine public transport sector through a sustainable electric mobility framework.
First Gen Corp., AC Mobility and Ecology Builders Development Corp. will contribute various services and expertise necessary to support the transition to electric mobility, specifically electric buses.
