Discovery Coron bags twin international luxury tourism honors

The private island resort in Dimakya Island gains fresh international recognition for luxury hospitality, family travel, weddings, and sustainability

Discovery Coron earned top honors at the 2026 REVE Luxury Awards and the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2026, adding to its growing list of international recognitions for luxury hospitality and sustainability.

The private island resort in Palawan won three titles at the REVE Luxury Awards: Luxury Private Island Resort – Global, Luxury Wedding Resort – Asia, and Luxury Family Beach Resort – Asia. The wins follow its 2025 REVE awards, where it received regional and continental honors in the same categories.

Discovery Coron also topped the Best Beach, Island + Upcountry Resorts category at the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2026.

General manager Joegil Magtanggol Escobar was also named the Philippines’ Best General Manager for the second consecutive year.

“We are deeply honored by this back-to-back recognition across both the Travel + Leisure and REVE platforms,” Escobar said. “This achievement reflects our team’s unwavering dedication to crafting meaningful guest experiences while safeguarding the natural beauty that makes Coron extraordinary.”

Located on Dimakya Island within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Discovery Coron has strengthened its sustainability efforts through initiatives such as eliminating single-use plastics, integrating solar energy systems, and supporting marine conservation programs. The resort also recently regained the ASEAN Green Hotel Award.

The 19-hectare property features 74 rooms and cottages, offering guests access to Coron’s limestone cliffs, clear waters, and diving sites while emphasizing responsible tourism.
